The Hydroxycut products are manufacturered by Iovate Health Sciences Inc. from Oakville, Ontario but are distrbuted by the Iovate Health Sciences USA Inc. which is located in Blasdell, New York. Iovate decided to recall the Hydroxycut products from industry after the FDA received 23 reviews of serious health issues including jaundice and raised liver enzymes. The problems claim that a person could be at risk to develop liver organ injury and harm that could require an organ transplant.
The FDA reported that one death has been associated with the Hydroxycut product which was due to liver failure. Hydroxycut is a weight loss supplement that is advertised as burning fat and enhancing energy levels. Hydroxycut Hoodia and Cleanse are not being included in this recall.
